The daughter of Weir Stewart and Margaret Penney Stewart, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Albert Hersey Swett, and brothers Tom and Weir Stewart, Jr. She is survived by children: Marion Swett Robinson of Darien, CT, Margaret Swett Haskell of Atlanta, GA, Albert Louis (Laura) Swett of Rochester; grandchildren: Marion Zion, Trum (Meredith) Haskell, Margaret Christina (Angelo) DiBiase, Albert Robinson (Kerstin Heider), Daniel Swett (Becca Loew), and Emily Swett; great-granddaughter: Pearson DiBiase; sister: Margaret Stewart Moss, Willow Street, PA; and many nieces and nephews.Mary graduated from The Shipley School, Smith College with a BA in Music and SUNY Geneseo with an MA in Education. Her affiliations included the Smith College Club, RGH Twig, and Asbury First United Methodist Church. She was a longtime lover of music, art, reading, walking and gardening. She and her husband lived in Rochester for many years before moving first to New Canaan, CT and then to Atlanta, GA. They returned to Rochester in 1992. They enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home and wintering in River Ranch, FL. In particular, Mary loved spending time with her family and friends.The family especially would like to thank The Friendly Home Memory Care Center and Lifetime Care Hospice staff and volunteers as well as Mary's companion and friend, Michelle Raschke, for their loving and compassionate care.In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Friendly Home or the Memorial Art Gallery, both in Rochester, NY.
