Mary Smith, born in 1912, spouse of Paul-A. Smith, mother of Clearwater, Clair, Kissimmee and Paula, died on February 27, 2003 at 90 years old.
Homemaker LAKELAND -- Mrs. Mary V. Smith of Lakeland died of heart failure Thursday (Feb. 27, 2003) at IHS at Oakbridge. She was 90. Born in Castle Shannon, Pa., on July 3, 1912, she came to Lakeland from Chevy Chase, Md., in 1949. She was a homemaker and a registered nurse. She was a volunteer for the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Shop. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ettes. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Alter Society. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Harrelson, Kissimmee, Clair Johnson, Clearwater; sisters, Helen Vilkaitis and Anna Vilkaitis, both of Avon Park; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 118 Lemon Ave. Gentry Morrison Beacon Hill Chapel.
