Mary "Pat" Smith, Bradenton, died May 18, 2003. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., and came to Bradenton in 1980 from Livonia, Mich. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and volunteered in the Open Heart Surgery Unit at Blake Medical Center for 10 years. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, William; daughters Susan K. Baker of Temple Terrace and Sally A. Vaughn of Northville, Mich.; sons Stephen L. Vaughn of Largo and William R. Jr. of Kansas City; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 43rd Street Chapel. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, Bradenton.
