Funeral service for Mary Smith-Jackson, 74, Arthur Avenue, Daytona Beach, who died August 24, 2007, at Halifax Hospital Medical Center, will be 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 1, at New Life Church Ministries, 1625 Derbyshire Road, Holly Hill, with the Rev. Craig L. Robinson, pastor of New St. James, officiating. Burial will be at Daytona Memorial Park. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Friday, August 31) and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 noon service time at the church. Mrs. Mary Smith-Jackson was born to the late Mr. Luther Smith and Mrs. Beatrice Washington Lee in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. She moved to Daytona Beach at the age of ten. She retired from Halifax Medical Center. She gave her life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, served as a member of the Missionary Union, Esther Circle, and Outreach ministry. She was also a member of the community Senior Citizens Ministry. She recently joined New St. James Missionary Baptist Church and she remained faithful in her worship. Mary Smith-Jackson leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving and devoted husband, Eddie Charles ("Eddie C.") Jackson; four loving sons: Gregory, Raymond and Darryl Smith, Daytona Beach, and Sean Smith (Celena) Jacksonville; three loving daughters: Cynthia Smith-Starks (George) and Shellie Smith-Jackson (Terry), Daytona Beach, and Glenda Smith-Adams (Taliaferro), Ormond Beach; two stepsons: Hureal Majors and Marshall Jackson, Daytona Beach; two stepdaughters: Zabrina Lewis, Daytona Beach, and Lori Perry-Rawls, Tacoma, Wash.; 20 grandchildren: Shawneca Smith, Tavaria Smith, Venecia Brandon, Izell Smith, LaDonna Smith, Leshon Williams, Gregory Smith, Jr., Robert Smith, Rashad Greene, Kyera Greene and Keyla Smith, all of Daytona Beach, Corey Smith, Atlanta, Ga., Angel Williams, Lake Mary, Bridget Robinson, Ft. Lauderdale, Kimberly Smith and Chelsea Smith. Jacksonville, RJ James, Sarasota, Laporsha Smith and Lorenzo Smith, Valdosta, Ga., and Tiamora Smith (Louisiana; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother: Reginald Lee, Daytona Beach; four sisters: Callie Gillis and Nellie Perry (Johnnie), Daytona Beach, and Catherine Jones and Betty Wilson, Ft. Lauderdale; very devoted and loving goddaughters, Marshall Porter, Port Orange and Monique Weaver, Daytona Beach; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Marvin C.
