SMITH, Mary Margaret. Passed away peacefully on March 8, 2003 in her ninety-third year. Predeceased by her husband Bill of fifty-four years. She will be remembered well by her children Marion, Noreen (Husband Alex), Billy (Wife Angela), and her late children Geraldine and Bobby. Mary has a brother, George Olney who currently lives in Vancouver, and was predeceased by sister Florence of Montreal and brother Alfred of Brighton, UK. She leaves six grandchildren Michael, Marah, Anne-Marie, Kathleen, Carole, Samantha and two great-grandchildren Jessica and Sara. Born in Halifax, she moved to Montreal at an early age and lived there for eighty years, raising her family with Bill and running their trucking business. She spent the last two years at the Wenleigh Nursing Home in Mississauga, living quite independently. A private family service was held at the Neweduk Funeral Home in Mississauga on March 9, followed by cremation. Mary will be returned to Montreal for a memorial service at St-Gabriel's Church, Centre St., Point-St. Charles on Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Cote-des-Neiges Cemetery, as weather permits in May.
