MILLER--Mary S. (nee Slattery), died peacefully on December 12, 2008 at Seaside Terrace, Laguna Beach, CA. Born June 4, 1915 in Lakewood, OH, she attended the University of Michigan. Moving to NYC in the late 1930s, she graduated from City College and then worked in publishing. Following her divorce from the playwright Arthur Miller, she received her Ph.D. in Psychology, working until retirement at Northside Center For Child Development. She was a longtime resident of Brooklyn Heights before moving to Laguna Beach, CA in 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Doyle of Roxbury, CT and son Robert Miller of Laguna Beach as well as their spouses Tom Doyle and Jean Miller; grandchildren Jessica Miller of Portland, OR, Zachariah Miller of Laguna Niguel, CA, Katherine Miller of Laguna Beach, CA and one great-grandchild, Luke Miller. She is predeceased by her brother Matthew Slattery. She is also survived by her brother, Jerome Slattery of Rocky River, OH.
