SOUTHINGTON - Mary S. Johnson, age 90, of Southington died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at an area convalescent home. She was the widow of Harold E. Johnson. Born in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Nedeau) Sloane. Mary was the owner of Johnson's Tropical Fish in Southington where she was affectionately known as the "Cat Lady" for the avid love and care she provided in the boarding of cats. She was also an active member of St. Thomas Church. Mary is survived by her son, Eric D. and wife, Patricia Johnson of Southington, with whom she had resided; her grandchildren, Robert H. and wife, Sally Johnson of Harwinton, Steven E. and wife, Lisa Johnson and their children, Shannon and Kevin Johnson, all of Southington, Eric A. and wife, Melissa Johnson and their son, Daniel Johnson of Moosup and William A. Johnson of Southington; Mary is also survived by her very dear friend, Mary Plourde, also of Southington. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. There are no calling hours and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain is in charge of the arrangements.
