<!-- FH = South Brevard Funeral Home -->Mary Willie Jones was born on January 26, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey. She transitioned this life on March 27, 2011 at the Wuesthoff Hospice Care Center in Rockledge, FL. Mary was 90 years of age.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Jones and Leola Hayes Jones, and her brother, Clarence, her only sibling.Mary attended and graduated from the New Jersey Public Schools. Mary went on to further her education by attending college. In 1940 she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Morris Brown she was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is a Public Service Organization. She taught English in the New York City Public School System, retired in the late 1980's and moved to Melbourne, FL. Upon her arrival in Florida she became affiliated with the Melbourne-Palm Bay Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. becoming a Diamond Life Member of the sorority. Mary was an avid bridge player, participating in numerous tournaments. Her love for gardening and flowers was apparent when looking at the beautiful surrounding of her home. Traveling was her passion, especially cruising. She was a gentle person who enjoyed children and often contributed to their fund raising projects.Mary's body was donated to science and the final interment will be the scattering of her ashes in the Gulf of Mexico. Her Memorial Service will be held on April 9, 2011 at 12:45 PM at the Delta Life Development Center, 805 E.
