BEAUFORT, S.C. - Mary Regan Darby, 87, widow of the late William Madison Darby, Jr., died Thursday, December 11, 2003, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2004, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Augusta. Mrs. Darby was born May 8, 1916, in Laurinburg, N.C., a daughter of Charles Regan and Anne McLean Regan. She was a charter member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church where she was former president of the Presbyterian Church Women. She was a volunteer with the Augusta Meals on Wheels. Surviving are one daughter, Maryanne Payne of Beaufort; one son, Dickson Darby of Charleston; and five grandchildren, Dr. William Madison Darby, III, of Simpsonville, Michael McLean Darby of New Orleans, La., William McLean Harrison and Kathryn Darby Sullivan, both of Charleston, and Anna Darby Harrison of Tampa, Fla. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Care of Choice, Post Office Box 1103, Beaufort, SC 29901 or Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3131 Walton Way Ext., Augusta, GA 30909.
