Mary Randall, born in 1928, spouse of Robert E. Randall, daughter of Albert and Nora, mother of Richard M, Elizabeth, Margaret and Marie, died on September 20, 2013 at 84 years old.
Mary Randall 1928 - 2013 HAMPDEN - Mary (Quillici) Randall, 84, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Wingate of Hampden Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Springfield on November 4, 1928 the daughter of the late Albert M. and Nora M. (Shea) Quillici. Mary was a graduate of The High School of Commerce. She earned her Associates Degree at Holyoke Community College; her Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology at Springfield College and her certification in Teaching from Westfield State College. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and a member of the Holy Name Woman's Guild. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years. Mary was an avid artistic rollerskater for many years. Mary was employed as a Secretary for the Springfield Armory and later worked as a substitute Teacher for the Springfield Elementary School System. In addition to her parents Mary was also predeceased by two sons Richard M. Randall in 2000, and James R. Randall in 1987. Mary is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years of marriage, Robert E. Randall of Springfield, and three devoted daughters Elizabeth Shaw and her husband James of Feeding Hills, Margaret Avezzie and her husband Harold of Hampden and Marie Osgood and her husband Robert of Springfield. She leaves her caring sister Madeline Q. Flanagan of Wilbraham, and her daughter-in-law Eleanor Randall of Springfield. She leaves seven cherished grandchildren, Kenneth, Kimberlee, Julie, Erica, Michael, Matthew and Cheryl, and four great grandchildren Christopher, Sara, Adam and Jillian. Mary's funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 9:45 A.M. from the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA 01118, Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Holy Cross Church 221 Plumtree Road in Springfield. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Family and friends are invited to a gathering on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 4p.m. until 7p.m. at the funeral home.
