Obituary of Mary R. Grimes


Mary R. Grimes lived in Leominster, was bookkeeper; 88 LEOMINSTER Mary R (Richardson) Grimes, 88 years old, of Pembroke, formerly of Leominster, died Thursday, June 19 in her daughter-in-law's home in Marshfield, after an illness. She is survived by her son, Lawrence Edward Grimes and his wife, Leslie Renee Smith of Marshfield, and their children, Rachel Elise Grimes, Matthew William Thomas Hunter Grimes, and grand step-daughter, Melinda Renee Naso. She is also survived by her two sisters, Norma McDonald of Westborough, MA, and Elinor Cilley of Concord, NH; as well as her former daughter-in-law, Katherine Grimes of Marshfield. Also surviving Mrs. Grimes is her niece, Corinne Stoney and her husband, Bill, her niece, Karyn Chouinard and her husband, Al, her nephew, Peter Grimes and his wife Mary Ellen, and her nephew Randy Cilley. Mrs. Grimes also leaves several grand and great grand nephews and nieces, in addition to her many friends at Liberty Place. Mrs. Grimes was predeceased by her husband, William H. Grimes and her daughter, Mary Ellen Grimes. Mrs. Grimes was also predeceased by her nephews, Robert E. McDonald and Jim Cilley, and niece, Janice L. Blaney. Mrs. Grimes was born in Quincy, MA, on March 1, 1920, daughter of Forrest and Evelyn (Edson) Richardson. She was a graduate from Fitchburg High School, and from the Fitchburg Business School. Mary was a member of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Leominster. She had worked as a bookkeeper at the former Clover Hill Farm in Lunenburg, MA, and at Miles Kedex Co., in Leominster, MA. GRIMES A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, at 1:00 p.m. in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester MA 01606. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
