<!-- FH = Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home -->Mary Pauline Arnaud Williams, age 79, of Springfield, MO passed away in her beautiful home on November 22, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She bravely battled a number of health issues for many years, constantly amazing those who knew her with her strength, hope and courage. Mary was born on July 22, 1931 in the family farmhouse in Monett, Mo., the daughter of Henry V. and Florence M. Arnaud. She graduated from Monett High School in 1949 where she was an active and social student as well as Homecoming Queen. Mary continued her education at Southwest Missouri State College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1953. Besides her academic achievements while at SMS, Mary was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and was selected as Ozarko Princess and TKE Sweetheart. During her college years she met John David Williams and after a five year courtship they married in 1957. She taught elementary school in Springfield for six years before dedicating her life to her husband, children and family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Florence, and her precious little son, David Brett Williams. She is survived by Dave, her loving husband of 53 years, and daughters Tracy Kimutis and husband, Mark, of Houston, Texas, Carrie Lewis and husband, Jim, of St. Louis, Mo., and Pam Gagne of Springfield. She is the beloved "Nannie" of her dear grandchildren Tom Kimutis, Maggie Kimutis, Anna Kimutis, John Lewis, Emily Lewis, Caroline Lewis, Paige Gagne and Lauren Gagne. Her spirit will live on in them. She is also survived by her sister, Annabelle Walker (husband Newman deceased) of Palo Alto, Calif., her brother Victor Arnaud and wife, Betty, of Monett, Mo., her sister Vivian Lumpe and husband, Jerry, of Springfield, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Mary's passion for flower and vegetable gardening as well as her love of cooking will be a special memory for all who knew her. Her travels and time spent with her children and grandchildren abroad in Egypt and Thailand and visits to St. Louis will always be treasured. She was a beautiful, curious and intelligent woman who truly touched those around her by her social grace and sincere interest in others. Her dedication to her family and friends through her loving home life, volunteer efforts and membership to First & Calvary Presbyterian Church, SMMA, and Hickory Hills Country Club brought her much joy and special friendships. Mary will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, "Nannie", family member and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. - 7 P.M. on Friday at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to First & Calvary Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
