Mary Patricia "Pat" Murphy McSweeney of East Brunswick died at home on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010. She was 77. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. in the Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Rd., East Brunswick, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew Church, East Brunswick. Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. McSweeney lived in Roselle Park before moving to East Brunswick 52 years ago. Pat was a loving stay-at-home Mom and wife before going to work as a teacher's aide for the Montessori school in East Brunswick, where she retired in 1995. She was a communicant and founding member of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church and Pat also belonged to the East Brunswick Senior Center. Mrs. McSweeney was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Daniel J. McSweeney, in 1992, and is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Crosby and her husband, Gary, of North Brunswick, and Mary Bullock and her husband, Brandon, of East Brunswick; two sons, Daniel J. McSweeney of Ojai, Calif., and Michael T. McSweeney and his wife, Monika, of Somerset; seven grandchildren, Kristy, Julia, Carson, Sydney, Ryan, Brooke and Tiffany, as well as her devoted caregiver, Leila.
