Mary P. Larson, daughter of Harry William and Lore Krahl, died.
Mary Patricia Gilbert Larson, has gone to be with the Lord having passed away, September 18, gently at home in the presence of her loving family. Born in St. Louis, Mo. she was the daughter of the late Harry William Gilbert and Lore Krahl Gilbert. Patsy grew up in Seattle, Wash. graduating from The Helen Bush School class of 1951. Her yearbook, TYKOE, read "No one personality stands out more clearly than Patsy Gilbert. The histrionic prowess has held us fascinated: that sense of humor salvaged many a lab period and TYKOE meeting; the leadership facets were always apparent. As Student Body President she happily employed all of these characteristics." Pat married Lambert J. Larson, a graduate of the Coast Guard Academy in 1952. She raised their five children amid numerous transfers and her husbands extended assignments aboard ship. Upon his retirement Scituate became her home for over forty years. Devoted to her family she provided them with everything she possibly could including endless babysitting for her grandchildren. Pat had a passion for antiques, mystery novels, old movies, especially musicals; she could sing all the lyrics and often did while preparing dinner. Holiday celebrations overflowed with family, food, her booming laugh ... but no ice. Patsy leaves her sister, Barbara Jean Gilbert Larson and brother-in-law, Captain Robert Larson (USCG retired) and was pre-deceased by her brother, H.B. Gilbert. She is sadly missed by her children: John Larson and his wife, Betty, of Weymouth; Lisa Larson Roberts and her husband, Mark, of Hull; Christopher Larson and his wife, Donna, of Monteverde Fla.; Colin Larson of Denver, Colo.; and Holly Larson Sledge and her husband, Jeff, of Madison Wis. She also leaves her grandchildren: Brant, Matthew, Lori Elizabeth, Eric, Abby, Allison, Debbie, Julia, Tory, Mark, and Colin, five great-grandchildren and her niece Amy Larson. Friends Yvonne Hughes, Lucille Sorrentino, Nancy Winston and Mary Ann Driscoll were held dear in her heart along with her church family at Grace Bible. We wish to thank everyone at South Shore Support Services and Norwell VNA for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 7 at Grace Bible Church, 234 Central St., East Bridgewater at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grace Bible counseling ministry.
