Mary Evelyn Owens, 41, of 206 Torrey Court, died May 7, 2005, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga.A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of Evelyn Smith Owens of Greer and the late Dr. Douglas Christopher Owens. Miss Owens was an employee of Bi-Lo and was of the Baptist faith.Also surviving are her companion, Tanya Patterson of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Christopher and Ann Owens of Greer, and David and Juli Owens of Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Douglas C. Owens III, Sarah Anne Owens, and Robert Reid Owens.A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Greenville, conducted by Dr. Jeff Rogers and Rev. Michelle McClendon.Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the Wood Mortuary.The family is at the home of the mother, Evelyn Owens, 257 Sheffield Road, Greer.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Greenville Pre-School and Children Ministries, 847 Cleveland St., Greenville, SC 29601-4495.
