JOYNER Mary Myrtice Carter Joyner, 94, of Yulee, FL., passed away Thursday February 8, 2007 at her residence. She was born on January 21, 1913 in Odum, GA., to the late Paul and Martha Carter. Mrs. Joyner has been a resident of Yulee since 2003, relocating from Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1931. Mrs. Joyner retired as a private secretary for several high raking officers in the United States Army during her career of 29 years. She leaves behind one sister, Dorothy Venita Durham of Yulee, FL., along with nieces and nephews, Faye Carter Ricks, Lester (Beth) Carter, Lawanna (Hodges) Whitaker, Rev. Julian (Jeanie) Robinson, Nina Lewis, Ben (Joan) Johnson, William (Vicky) Henderson, Carlita (James) Lee and Master Sergeant Norma (Wade) Henderson Rampay, USAF. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:00 AM in the Burgess Chapel, of Oxley-Heard Funeral Home with the Reverend George D. Young, III of St. Peters Episcopal Church officiating.
