Mary (Corrigan) Mills, 91, of Plainville, died May 16, 2008. She was the wife of her husband of 62 years, Stanley Mills, who predeceased her in 2003. She was born in Hartford on Feb. 5, 1917, the oldest of six children to the late George and Josephine (Shea) Corrigan, and was a member of the Hartford High School graduating class of 1935-B. Upon her marriage to Stanley on her 24 birthday, they relocated to Plainville where they raised their four children. A longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mercy, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters, as well as the Ladies Guild. She made many friends at Miss Porter's School where she began working as a receptionist at the age of 50 until she retired 34 years later at the age of 84. She is survived by her children, George Mills and his companion, Kathy Knox, of Plainville, Eileen Morgan and her husband, Robert, of Longmeadow, Mass., Philip Mills and his wife, Karen, of Newington, and Alan Mills and his companion, Lois Pikora, of Plainville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia Egan, of Southington, Grace Gregson, of West Hartford, and Ruth Varnas, of North Aurora, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Mills; her brother, Gervase Corrigan; and her sister, Edith Patterson. The funeral was held May 19 at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville, followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
