Mary Miller, born in 1925, spouse of Eugene-L. Miller, daughter of Albert and Pearl, mother of David, Rebecca, Jonathon and Carol, died on May 24, 2007 at 81 years old.
WINCHESTER, N.H. -- Mary E. Miller, 81, of 870 Keene Road, Winchester, died Thursday evening, May 24, 2007, at Applewood Healthcare in Winchester.She was born in Brattleboro, Vt., on Sept. 14, 1925, the daughter of Albert and Pearl (Chapman) Allen. She attended schools in Brattleboro and Northfield, Mass., and was a graduate of Greenfield (Mass.) High School.She married Eugene L. Miller on May 14, 1944, in Northfield. Mr. Miller predeceased her in 1991. She lived in Northfield many years before moving to Winchester. She worked early in life at the former Clearweave Store in Greenfield, and drove taxi.While in Northfield, she and her husband owned and operated several businesses, providing bus transportation for the Northfield School System, operating of CME Restaurant on Main Street, Northfield, operating concession stands at area auctions, Millers Motors Used Cars, and an antique shop.After her husband's death she drove the van for the Northfield/Bernardston Senior Center and worked as an outreach person. She was known to many as the Cookie Lady. She was also former chaplain of the Northfield Grange.She is survived by a son, David of Northfield; two daughters, Rebecca Fowler and her husband, Jonathon, of New London, and Carol Miller of Winchester; two brothers, James Allen and his wife, Lillian, of Northfield, and Albert Jr. and his wife, Arletta, of Winooski, Vt.; two sisters, Marion Holbrook and Dorothy Arsenault of Northfield; five grandchildren, Todd, Tammie, and Martin Miller, and Bethany Fowler-Shaw, and Brian Fowler; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Alberta Allen of Greenfield, Thelma Miller of Hinsdale, and Ethel Carpenter of Northfield.Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, Main Street, Northfield. Officiating will be the Rev. Lloyd Parrill, pastor, and the Rev. J. Matthew Worrall of the Grace Christian Fellowship in Winchester. Burial will follow in Pentecost Cemetery in Northfield.Calling hours will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the KIDDER FUNERAL HOME, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield.Donations in Mrs. Miller's memory may be made to either The Northfield Senior Center, 69 Main St., Northfield, MA 01360 or the Grace Christian Fellowship Church, P.O.
