Athens - Mary Catherine Miller, 79, died October 22, 2007.A native of Clarke County, she was a daughter of the late Sim J. and Gladys Spratlin Smith and the widow of John Miller, Sr. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marcus Smith and H. Elliott Smith and a sister, Elaine O'Steen.Funeral services will be Friday, October 26, 2007, at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will be in Winterville Cemetery.Survivors include two sons, Michael McKenzie of Alabaster, Ala., and John "Eddie" Miller, Jr. of Phenix City, Ala.; sister, Jeanette Pruitt of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
