->SKOWHEGAN -- Mary Marquis Kent passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 3, 2006, at her residence in Skowhegan.She was born in Waterville on June 26, 1955, to Guy and Pauline Marquis. Mary co-owned and operated Eaton Mountain Ski Area in Skowhegan with husband, Eugene Kent, and son Eugene Kent II for the last 14 years.Mary was predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law, Edward Kent.Mary is survived by her husband, Eugene Kent, of Skowhegan; son Eugene Kent II and companion, Tausha Belanger, of Skowhegan; granddaughter, Colligan Jean Kent of Skowhegan; sisters, Rose Marquis, Kim Bickford and companion, Bob, all of Waterville, and Linda Mott and husband, Don, of New Mexico; sisters-in-law Janice Kent of Benton, Betty Jane Pomeroy and husband, Bud, and Evelyn Sandy, all of Florida; and brother-in-law Frank Kent Sr. of Winslow. Mary had many special nieces and nephews, Misty Bickford, Zachary Bickford, and Steven Nye, all of Waterville, Shaun Mott of Fairfield, Frank Kent Jr. and Paulie Kent, both of Winslow, Teddy Blakely of Fairfield, Bucky Kent, Ben Kent, Thomas Kent, Mary Anne Colson, Alison Colson, Christina Colson, and Jason Woodworth, all of Benton, Josh Woodworth of Colorado, Steve Kent, Devon Kent, and Katelynn Kent, all of Winslow, and many more nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. The family wishes to express their thanks for all their help, Grace St. Cyr, Sister Rose Marquis, special friends Cathy Grard and Debbie Otis, the Oncology Unit at Mid-Maine Medical Center, and the staff at Rite-Aid of the Waterville-Winslow area.At Mary's request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at St. Francis Cemetery in Waterville. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mary's name to MaineGeneral Medical Center, Philanthropy, P.O. Box 828, Waterville, ME 04903.Arrangements are by Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
