Mary Margaret Pruitt, 64, of Muncie, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a courageous six year battle with cancer.She was born February 18, 1947 in Muncie to the late Virgil and Betty (Harless) Wendell. Mary grew up in Farmland and was a 1965 graduate of Monroe Central High School. She was a waitress at Workman's Bar in Muncie for almost 30 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting Angels and Indians. Her life revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Steven A. Pruitt; two daughters, Crystal (husband: Raymond) Dearduff of Muncie and Nancy Cantrall of Winchester; six grandchildren, Valerie Stewart and Mark Dearduff both of Muncie, Danielle (husband: Benjamin) Hendrix of Winchester, Beth (husband: Ronald) Kirk and April Dearduff both of Muncie and Robert Cantrall Jr. of Winchester; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Steven, Alexander, Kaden, Lila and Amber; two brothers, Steven Wendell of Indianapolis and Ferral (wife: Cynthia) Wendell of Pensacola, Fla.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Cantrall; and a sister-in-law, Roberta Wendell.Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at True Light Baptist Church, 805 North Country Club Road, Muncie, with Rev. John Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Maxville. Visitation is two hours prior to services Wednesday at the church. Sproles Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
