COX, Mary Margaret Elizabeth (nee MacMillan) born October 22, 1924 beloved wife of the late Cyril Cox, passed peacefully away December 23rd, 2009 at Agassiz, British Columbia. Born in Dauphin, Manitoba Mary moved west with her parents to settle in Calgary where she later met and married Cyril. Mary loved her family and friends making them her priority in life. A caring person, she reached out in friendship to newcomers helping where she could. Mary worked at A&W and later for the Hudson's Bay Co until retirement. She was a member of Renfrew United Church and active in the UCW and volunteered at the Fanning Center. A member of the WAC's during the Second World War she maintained her friendships, meeting once a month with the Ex Service Girls at the Legion. She spent her free time doing crossword puzzles, gardening and reading. She is survived by sons, Wayne, Ken, Lorne, and daughter Judy; sisters Marjory, Jean, Lorna; and brother Guy. A memorial service will be held January 16th at Sardis Community Church (45625 South Sumas Rd, Chilliwack) at 2pm with a second special memorial for her many Calgary to be determined at a later date.
