LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Mary Maddox Lawton, 95, of Lawrenceville, GA, entered into rest Monday, September 18, 2006 at Gwinnett Medical Center. A native of Augusta, she was a daughter of the late John Hildyer Maddox and Fannie Estelle Pearre Maddox, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Reginald A. Lawton. She was a former resident of Willington, SC and Tampa, FL and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Brandon, Florida. Survivors include her daughter, Betty J. Wideman of Cumming, Georgia; her son, Thomas K. Lawton of Monroe, Virginia; her sister, Sarah Rainwater of Union City, Georgia; four grandchildren; Susan Wideman of Suwanee, Georgia, Eddie Wideman of Weston, Florida, Donnie Wideman of San Antonio, Texas, and Tommy Lawton, Jr. of Madison Heights, Virginia; and nine wonderful great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 12:30PM Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Poteet Funeral Homes - South Chapel with Rev. Jim Johnson, pastor of the Sherwood Baptist Church in Augusta, officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30PM Thursday at the Overbrook Cemetery in McCormick, SC. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 12:30PM Thursday at the funeral home.
