MITCHELL, Mary (Marie) (nee Buchak) We regret to announce the death of Mary (Marie) Mitchell (nee Buchak) in Vernon Jubilee Hospital on December 11, 2003, at the age of 93 years. Mary was born in Strathcona, Alberta, and was a longtime resident of Tofield, prior to her retirement to Vernon, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Ivan, in 1974; her parents Mike and Josephine Buchak; brothers Henry, Edward, and Ted; and sister, Helen. Mary is survived by her loving children: Mavis McLeod of Tofield, Judi (Andy) Schiiler of Peachland, B.C., and Mitch of Mazatlan, Mexico; along with nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her sister Victoria Buchak of Vernon, B.C. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, December 16, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Vernon Funeral Home, with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating.
