Obituary of Mary-M. McKeown

McKeown, Mary M. GUILDERLAND, N.Y. Mary Margaret Daley McKeown, 97, formerly of Geneseo, N.Y. and Lantana, Fla., passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Mary was born June 21, 1913 to Sarah and Jack Daley in Geneseo. She was married for 37 years to the late Victor J. McKeown, of County Cork, Ireland and later Geneseo. She is survived by her three daughters, Lee Ann Conners of Berne, N.Y., Molly McKeown of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Sally (Carl) DelleFave of Rochester, N.Y. Survivors also include her seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Eric) Cake, Ian (Sandie) Con-ners, Wendy Gibson (Peter Con-stantakes), Marin Gibson (Ray Martinez), Carlene DelleFave, Anthony (Cindy) DelleFave and Scott DelleFave; as well as four great-grandchildren, Michael Delle-Fave, Kaleigh Conners, Maddox DellaFave and Caden DelleFave. She was predeceased by her brothers Jack Daley and Bruce Daley; sister Sally Daley; and her son-in-law, Ronald Conners. Mary enjoyed painting, travel, dancing, music, and genealogy. She volunteered for years with the American Legion Auxiliary in Geneseo and Lake Worth Senior Center in Fla. She was particularly proud of her Irish heritage and loved to travel, trading visits with her relatives in Dublin. The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for their exceptional and loving care of Mary over the last seven years, and to Community Hospice of Albany County for their support and kindness. A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at the chapel of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center on Saturday, July 17 at 11 a.m. with a private burial in Geneseo to follow at a later date.
