Mary M. Lavelle, 97, of Syracuse, died on Sunday at Crouse Hospital. She had retired after 35 years with the Carrier Corporation. Mrs. LaVelle was a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Church, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Happy Roamers. She was known for her Macaroni and Cheese that she made for the Friday Fish Dinners during Lent. She enjoyed traveling and tending to her flower garden. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas and sister, Catherine Ganley. Mrs. Lavelle is survived by her five sons, Thomas (Sarah) of Scottsdale, AZ, Robert (Cindy) of Liverpool, William (Cassie) of Syracuse, James (Debbie) of Syracuse, Michael of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent dePaul Church with interment to follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum.
