Madison County - Mary M. Bradley Hooper, 86, of Madison County, died July 12, 2006.She was born in Madison County to Ella Gertrude Ledford and Clifford Melvin Bradley. At the age of five, her mother died and left her and seven other siblings. When she was nine years of age her Daddy married another wonderful lady whose name was Vella Gooch. Vella was a wonderful and loving mother to these children, and she and Melvin had three more children. These children and the other three grew up together, and they never were half brother and sisters in Maryís eyes. They were her whole brothers and sisters. After her mother died, one of the seven children died because God saw fit to take her on to Heaven and because he knew these children could not take care of her. So Mary was pre-deceased by her mother and two babies, a brother Jewell Bradley and a sister Annie Mae Bradley, when Mary was a little girl.Mary loved Vella who she called ìMomî because she and her oldest sister Noreen Bradley Eller raised her.As she grew older, Mary and her sisters worked in the Blue Bell Co. when it was in Commerce. She met and fell in love with John Kannie Hooper. They fell in love and then WWII broke out, and he had to fight for our country. She always said that he loved her and she knew it because he went around the world and came back home to her.On January 19, 1946, they married and later had two children. The first child was a daughter, Nancy H. Eubanks, who is married to Frank W. Eubanks. The second was a son, Melvin Douglas Hooper, who is married to Paula J. Hooper. She has three grandchildren, Brandon, Chad and Amber, whom she loved very much.Mary is survived by four siblings, Mozell Bird, Tommy Bradley, Catherine Calloway and Robert Bradley. The siblings that are deceased are Noreene Eller, Blanche Eller, Grace Haggard and Ruth Adams. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and lots and lots of friends. She also has a loving family from Cobb Health Care in Comer where she has resided for almost six years. She loved everybody, and she loved the Lord. She was of the Baptist faith. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial services will be Friday, July 14, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Rev. Buford Lockman will officiate. Her body will be cremated like her husbands because this was their wish. Following the memorial service, her cremains will be put with her husbands, and they will be entombed together at a later date.
