Smith, Mary Louise BALLSTON SPA Mary Louise Smith, 84, of Burgoyne Ave. died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Maplewood Manor. Born in Arlington, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Archiver J. and Ruth Kirkbride Strait. Mary Louise was a graduate of Somerville High School in Massachusetts and received her bachelor's degree from Colby College. She resided most of her life in Penfield, N.Y. prior to moving to Ballston Spa in 1999. She was an avid gardener and loved working on her ceramics as well as going camping. Mary Louise is survived by her loving husband, Donald B. Smith; her children, Susan L. Zutterling and her husband Richard of Greenfield Center and Ronald J. Smith and his wife Carolyn of San Jose, Calif.; as well as her grandchildren, Amy Zutterling of Steamboat Springs, Colo. and Laurel E. Smith of San Jose, Calif. Mary Louise was predeceased by her brother, Rev. Edmund R. Strait and her sister, Helen S. Parker. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church with her niece, Rev. Dr. Pat Bush officiating.
