Morrissey, Mary LouiseMay 3, 1916 - March 3, 2008Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Morrissey, 91, Venice, formerly of Nokomis, Stratford, Conn., and New Rochelle, N.Y., died March 3, 2008.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a Scripture service at 6:30 p.m., at Ewing Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Epiphany Cathedral. Survivors include her nieces, Carol Havlin of Bedford Hills, N.Y., Kathie Westpheling of Vienna, Va., Joan Albert Dreux of McLean, Va., and Pat Damore of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and her great-nieces and great-nephews.Miss Morrissey was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret and Jane; and her brother Paul.Miss Morrissey attended New Rochelle (N.Y.) High School and the Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. She was past president of Business and Professional Women's U.S.A. of New York State, and a member of the American Medical Writers Association and the Ladies of Charity in New Rochelle. She retired in 1980 from Consumers Union, where she was administrative secretary to the editor of Consumer Reports magazine. After moving to Nokomis in the mid-1980s, she became active in the Diocese of Venice and was a past president of the Council of Catholic Women, a volunteer at the Pregnancy Care Center in Venice and a founding member of the Women's Club of Sorrento East.Mass cards are appreciated.
