Mary Louise Hughes New Hartford Mary Louise Hughes, 99, of New Hartford died May 13, 2008 at the Masonic Care Community where she had resided since 1999. She was born July 2, 1908 in New Hartford the daughter of John Jones Hughes and Margaret Owen Hughes. She was a step-daughter of Louisa Francis Owens Hughes. She received diplomas from New Hartford High Schools The Faxton School of Nursing, The Boston Lying-In Hospital, Columbia and New York Universities. Her professional life was spent with children in hospitals and in schools. Her retirement years were spent travelling. In 1999, she became a resident in the Masonic Care Community. At first she lived at Acacia Village and later moved to the skilled nursing area of the Pavilion, most recently in the Manhattan Household. She wishes to thank the Masonic Care Community for the excellent care that she received while she was with them. She is survived by cousins and friends. At Mary's request her body was donated to the SUNY Upstate Medical Center. There are no calling hours. Those who wish may make donations to the charity of your choice.
