GIBSON, Mary Louise (nee Fulcher)June 23, 1942 – December 20, 2014Mary Lou was born in the family home in West Vancouver on June 23, 1942 and passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the North Shore Hospice. She was predeceased by her mother Anna Mary Fulcher, and her father Edgar William Fulcher. Mary Lou leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Robert (Bob), her daughters Jennifer (Rich), and Stephanie (Paul), her brothers Bill and family, and George, grandchildren Kate, Jonah, Annie, and sister-in-law Nancy Gibson. Mary Lou grew up in West Vancouver, attending Pauline Johnson School and West Vancouver High School. She worked as a conveyance clerk for Vancouver law firms prior to marrying Bob in 1970 and starting her family. Mary Lou traveled to the UK and Europe in the mid 1960s where she met some life-long friends, many of whom have since immigrated to Canada. Mary Lou loved her family dearly, and enjoyed her escapes with them to Secret Cove, Whistler and Palm Desert. She loved the water, and spent much time sailing and cruising on the family's boats. Mary Lou was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who adored spending time with Kate, Jonah, and Annie. She made friends easily and kept them for life, loving to entertain and spend time with the people in her life. She touched many, many people and in doing so, enriched their lives. She gave willingly of her time, and was devoted to her Healing Touch skills, which she offered to one and all. An Eight Bells committal service and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, 3811 Point Grey Road, Vancouver on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the North Shore Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
