-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Mary Lou WhaleyDover Plains - Mary Lou Whaley, 63, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY and recently of Sharon, CT died peacefully on June 24, 2014 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mary Lou was a professional bar tender and bar manager at the Dover Recreation Center in Dover Plains, NY for over 25 years. She retired in 1997 from "The Rec" but was never forgotten by the hundreds of patrons that she served with a smile over the years. She was known to so many as "ML" and "Lou", but she especially loved to be called "Ma" by her dear son Jason Frances Whaley who passed away on February 15, 2013.Born January 23, 1951 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of Charles L. and the late Francis J. (Murphy) Whaley. Mary Lou attended Dover High School in Dover Plains and was a life member and past president of the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company, Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Dover Plains United Methodist Church and in her spare time enjoyed putting puzzles together and collecting beautiful bells.In addition to her father, Mary Lou is survived by two sisters; Shirley Yeno of Millerton, NY and Charlene Carlson of Cherokee, Iowa, her beloved granddaughter Reagan S. Whaley of Dover Plains, a nephew, Richard Yeno and his wife Dina of Dover Plains, a niece, Kristi Yeno-Killmer and her husband Ryan of Millerton and her great nieces and nephew, Danielle and Chelsea Yeno and Kaitlyn and Nate Killmer, a daughter in law, Holly Whaley of Dover Plains and a dear friend and neighbor Rose Bean of Dover Plains.Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 5-8pm at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. The J.H. Ketcham Hose Co., Ladies Auxiliary will conduct services at 7pm. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the J.H.
