CARR-MILLERMary Lou Carr Miller passed away Monday, February 20 at 7:47 a.m. in her home comforted by her family. Born September 10, 1927 in Bridgeport, to Alfred North and Mary Anzalone, Mary Lou was predeceased by her siblings Shirley Esposito, Alfred North, her first husband William E. Carr and her daughter Winifred. Mary Lou was a woman of many passions both professionally and personally. In her professional life, Mary Lou was a pioneer. As the Director of Medical Records at Norwalk Hospital, she was president of the Connecticut Medical Records Assoc. and one of the founders of the National Cancer Registry in the early 1970's. Accomplishments of which she was very proud. Her experiences and tenure at Norwalk Hospital had a lasting impression on Mary Lou's family, especially her grandchildren. Mary Lou never met a splinter, skinned knee, or loose tooth that she could not tackle. In addition, to her contributions within the Medical Community, Mary Lou was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Fairfield throughout her life. She was a past President of the Holy Family Rosary Guild and volunteered for over 10 years in the Diocese of Bridgeport Pre-Cana Program. While Mary Lou was rightfully proud of her professional accomplishments, her greatest joy came from her family, her three children Cathy DeBlois and her husband Donald, William Carr and his wife Betty and Christopher Carr and his wife Hilary; 11 grandchildren; (oldest to youngest) Jennifer, Ben, Beth, Cass, Billy, Zack, Jonathan, Taylor, Peter, Glenn; and 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Emma, and Ashlyn. Mary Lou was the rock upon which her family stood. Loving and unflinchingly strong, she epitomized the role of matriarch. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Mary Lou found happiness in the companionship of her second husband Joseph "Juice" Miller. Married in 1995, Mary Lou and Juice lived their dreams together traveling the globe, wintering in Florida, playing golf and enjoying time with their family. The two were a dynamic pair, beloved and embraced by all that met them. Mary Lou leaves behind a number of great friends and extended family who loved her very much and will miss her. Mary Lou Carr Miller was an accomplished individual who achieved great heights in her field while raising a wonderful family. Mary Lou had the enviable quality of enhancing the lives of those around her, we should all be so lucky. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2012 (TODAY) at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial.
