Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Crestwood Chapel for Mary Lou Long, 94, who passed away on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008. Bro. Larry Thompson and Mark Smith will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.Mrs. Long worked in the East Gadsden Baptist Church nursery for more than 30 years, where she was a member; children were the most precious things to her. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Reese; and by her second husband, David G. Long; parents, Floyd and Daisy Cooper; grandson, John David Giles; sister, Jeanette Pennington; and brother, William Cooper.She is survived by her daughters, Sara Hale and Maryanne Burchfield; son-in-law, Ray Burchfield; grandchildren, Teri Small, Sheri (Daniel) Flynn, Cliff (Gene) Burchfield, Cynthia (Jeremy) Paulauski and Ragan Ragan; 13 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ellen Wilson and Betty Randle; and brother-in-law, Wallace Long.Pallbearers will be Zachary, Noah and Cliff Burchfield, Jacob and Jason Ragan, Trey Small, Jeremy Paulauski and Richard Briggs.Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons at East Gadsden Baptist Church.Special thanks to Amedysis Home Health, Lisa Collins RN, Larry Smith LPN and Shakera Ledford, Southern Care Hospice, Jamie Ellis and Ladana Kirkland.
