Mary Louise Smith Martin, 82, of Anderson, died Monday, April 14, 2003. Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Charles Clyde Smith and Mary Jane Clinkscales Smith. She was a graduate of Winthrop College, was a former teacher and was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church in Fountain Inn. Survivors: Husband, William D. Martin Sr., of the home; sons, William D. Martin Jr. and Charles E. Martin, both of Anderson; a sister, Eleanor Hayes, of Travelers Rest; and two grandchildren. Predeceased: Two brothers, Charles C. Smith Jr. and Frank O. Smith Jr. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fountain Inn, with the Rev. Joe F. Hayes Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at Fairview Presbyterian Church Historical Building following the service. The family will be at the homes of her sons. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, or the Historical Building Fund, 126 Fairview Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. - The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, is in charge of arrangements.
