Mary Lois Pitman, 58, of Florence, Ala., died Monday, July 4, 2005, at ECM Hospital of a brief illness. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Greenhill Funeral Home chapel, with burial in Richardson Chapel Cemetery.Officiating at the service will be Brother Keith Barnett and Brother Charles Kretzer.She is survived by her husband, Larry Pitman; daughter, Jennifer Murphy; mother, Pauline Matthews; sister, Jo Brown; grandchild, B.J. Michael; best friend, Kay Bevis; and numerous friends, cousins, nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by her father, Robert T. Matthews; and brother, Randy Matthews.She was a housewife and beautician.Pallbearers will be Carlton Fowler, Dewayne Flippo, Anthony Flippo, Jack Wagner, Tony Brewer, Paul Fuller, Charles Young and Mike Hanback.Honorary pallbearer will be Carlos Perez.Greenhill Funeral Home is directing.
