Mary L. Miller, 87, Lakewood Ranch, died Jan. 11, 2006. She was born June 13, 1918, in West Liberty, W.Va., and came to the area five years ago from New Jersey. She was a teacher for the school system in Wetzel County, W.Va., for 44 years. She graduated from West Liberty State University. She was a member and past state president of Alpha Delta Kappa and a member of Harvest United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church in Butler, N.J. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Baker of Lakewood Ranch; a sister, Joretta Tallman of Paden City, W.Va.; a brother, Thomas Lemley of Torrence, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harvest United Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch. Burial will be in West Virginia. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Harvest United Methodist Church, 14305 Covenant Way, Bradenton, FL 34202.
