KNAPP, Mary L. Mary L. Knapp, age 78, of Pine Valley, NY, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, NY. Mary was born in Coopers Plains, NY, on January 28, 1932, to Emory and Ethel (White) Young and was a graduate of Painted Post High School. She married Kenneth Knapp in 1967 and was preceded in death by him in 1996. Mary retired from Corning Glass Works in 1988. She enjoyed cooking and visiting with her grandchildren. Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Campbell. Her survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (David) Tripp of Corning; two sons, Glenn (Belinda) Knapp of Millport, NY, and Thomas (Cindy) Kies of the Outer Banks, NC; one brother, Corky Young of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Alexxa Beth and Cameron Orion Knapp, Alex, Tom, and Jessica Kies; several nieces and nephews; a close friend, Mike Felenchak of Big Flats. Her brothers, Bob, Non, and Hub Young predeceased Mary. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 10&#58;00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post. Arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Service in Corning.
