MANCHESTER - Mary Louise Carter, 99, died Oct. 31, 2011, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home. She was born on June 10, 1912, in Manchester, to Nelson and Ellen (Moore) Gingras. She attended local schools and lived in Candia for several years following her marriage before moving to Manchester. She worked for a time as a clerk for Pariseau's in Manchester before devoting all of her time and energy to her family and her home. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Stephen Carter, in 1987; a son, Nelson O. Carter in 2001; three brothers, George, William and Leo Gingras; and two sisters, Ruth Barrett and Mildred Brouillard. Members of her family include two sons, Leslie N. Carter and Stephen V. Carter, both of Bedford; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Irene Pinard of Goffstown; several nieces and nephews. . SERVICES: Calling hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester St., corner of Beech Street. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Lowell Street. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford.
