Mary L. Carter, 85, of Louisville, died Saturday at Caritas Medical Center. She was the former Mary L. Moredock, a native of Owensboro, KY, a supervisor of the tobacco stand at the Brown Hotel and a member of Lees Lane Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Carter. Survivors include a daughter, Diora Ely; grandchildren, Bettina Campbell, Angelita Myrick and Robert Short; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at family-owned Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday.
