Mary L. (Guasconi) Bois, 86, lifelong resident of Bridgewater died peacefully on Sept. 26. Mary was born on Jan. 21, 1928 and was the beloved daughter of the late George and Erminia (Resmini) Guasconi. Mary was a graduate of Bridgewater High School, class of 1945 and married the late Bridgewater Police Sergeant James A. (Mike) Bois on April 17, 1949. She worked at Lucy Shoe Company for many years before starting a 34 year career with the Bridgewater School Lunch Program and retired as the Director. Mary was a talented cook who passed her passion for homemade pastas onto her children and grandchildren. The best day of the year was the family gathering to make tortellinis and torta. Everyone enjoyed her labors of love in the kitchen. She also enjoyed reading, was active in the 3rd Order of Mary at St. Colemans Church in Brockton, and for many years was active with the St. Thomas Aquinas Womens Guild. She was a past member of the Bridgewater Police Wifes Association and loved spending time with her sister Catherine, niece Sandra and her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Janice M. Ward and her husband David of Milton and her son Ret. Bridgewater Police Chief Michael J. Bois of Lakeville. Proud grandmother of Mandy Beatrice and husband Peter, Carolyn and Stephanie Ward, and great-grandmother of Peter and Sera Beatrice. Sister of the late Albert Guasconi, Gino Guasconi, and Catherine Blouin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater. Burial will be at the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery and visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. Donations in Marys name may be sent to the St. Thomas Aquinas Womens Guild, 103 Center St., Bridgewater MA 02324.
