KNAPP Mary (Shirley) Knapp, age 85, of Bridgeport, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Bridgeport Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Charles Knapp Jr. Shirley was born in Bridgeport to the late Thomas and Mary Bennett. She was retired from Remington Shavers where she had been employed for 57 years. Shirley loved shopping, children, and animals. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed socializing with her many friends. She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Jennie Sarosky of Bridgeport, Claudia Bennett of Bridgeport, and Dorothy Zelenak of Stratford; a niece; three nephews; and many friends. She had been predeceased by one brother, Thomas Bennett and two sisters, Helen Bennett and Josephine Short. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Augustine Cathedral with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.
