Kent, age 76 of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010Mary was born on July 24th, 1934 in Youngstown, Ohio to Mary F. (Hassey) and John J. Hnat. Graduated from East High School in 1952, then joined the United States Navy Waves 1953-57 and she was also featured on the cover of the Navy Guide week of July 9, 1956.Mary and Joe retired to Pensacola, FL in 1990 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She served the Pensacola community for 12 years as a volunteer Chaplin for the American Legion Post #240, a member of Northwest Waves Unit #52 and the Fleet Reserve Branch #22.Mary is preceded in death by her husband Joseph J Kent, her parents, Brother Richard Hnat, and Sister Ruth Puncekar and nephew Robert Hnat. She is survived by one brother Bob Hnat, son James J Kent of Mooresville,N.C., daughter Darlene M Sisk and one granddaughter Cheyenne M Sisk of Pensacola, Florida along with 2 nephews; 2 nieces and a host of friends.Viewing is scheduled for October 11, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 pm, with services on October 12, 2010 at 10:30am at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with the Reverend Delbert N. Murray, officiating.Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.The family wishes to thank American Legion #240, Waves Unit #52, Fleet Reserve Branch #22, TIP (trauma intervention program), many great friends and relatives from Milwaukee, Wi.
