LEWIS, Mary June - June 11, 1937 - October 14, 2005 June Lewis, a resident of the Wikwemikong Nursing Home and formerly of Mindemoya, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Friday, October 14, 2005 at the age of 68 years. She was born at Spring Bay, daughter of Evelyn (Galbraith) (Legge) Pattison and the late Warren Legge. June was very active lady who, when living in Sudbury, had been an avid bowler and when she and her husband Earl retired back home, she enjoyed curling. June was extremely active in the community, volunteering in many local organizations. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Providence Bay Seniors groups, the Providence Bay Agriculture Society, the Campbell Horticulture Society and when called on to cook or bake for any function, she was always willing to help. June was also the co-ordinator of Tourist Info on the Chi-Cheemaun. She also found time to knit, embroider, cross stitch, paper tole, needle craft or any other craft she came across. Her handywork and items of clothing were shared with many and cherished by all recipients. June loved to visit with people, but her greatest joy was her family. A loving and loved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be sadly missed, but many happy memories will be forever cherished. June was predeceased by her husband Earl Lewis Jr. on February 19, 1988. Cherished daughter of Evelyn Pattison of Spring Bay. Dearly loved and loving mother of Donald and Colleen of Scarborough, Michael of Alberta, Larry and Lucille of Sudbury and Steven of Mindemoya. Proud grandmother of Amanda, Warren, Erin, David and Cassandra and great-grandchildren Mia and Madeline. Dear sister of Ted and Georgeanne Legge, Owen and Shirley Legge, Keith and Tammy Legge all of Mindemoya, Jack and Ethel Legge of Sudbury and Bev and Dave McDermid of Providence Bay. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call at the CULGIN FUNERAL HOME, Gore Bay after 7 p.m. Sunday. The funeral service will be conducted at the United Missionary Church, Spring Bay on Monday, October 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Allan Wilkinson officiating. Interment in Grimesthorpe Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary would be appreciated.
