Mary Margaret Johnson - SAVANNAH - Mary Margaret Johnson, 58, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Candler Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Elizabeth Johnson. Mary was born raised in Savannah. She was a 1969 graduate of St. James Catholic School and a graduate of Hershel V. Jenkins High School Class of 1973. She was a devout Catholic and was active at St. James Catholic Church and School. Mary loved children and that is what prompted her to become a Teachers aid at St. James for many years and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. Mary is survived by a sister and brother in law, Lynn and Ken Berry; a brother, Tom Johnson; two nieces, Jennifer and Stephanie Berry; a great-niece, Savannah; a great nephew, Austin. Visitation: 5 - 7p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with a Rosary Service at 6:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church, with Fr. Mark Ross Officiating. A reception will be held in the Narthex of the church immediately following the Mass. Burial will take place in the family lot at Bonaventure Cemetery after the reception.
