Mrs. Mary Morris Gregory Johnson, 64, of Lancaster, widow of the late Conward Johnson, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at her home.She was born Aug. 21, 1949, in Rock Hill, a daughter of the late John Herlong Morris Sr. and Martha Ellen Morgan Gates.Mrs. Johnson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a CNA that loved her job before becoming disabled. Mrs. Johnson always helped people that were in need and her grandchildren were the love of her life.A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Johnson is 4 p.m. today, Jan. 8, at Christian Assembly Worship Center with the Rev. Marvin Tennant officiating.Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, William F. Gregory and his wife, Kisha, of Lancaster; a brother, John Herlong Morris Jr. of Jefferson; seven sisters, Ellen Montgomery of York, Carrie Gunn of Lancaster, Jerdie Sims of Catawba, Addie Lucinda Smith of Inman, Dovie Lucy Wright of Lancaster, Susie Morris of Rock Hill and Eva Morris of York; and seven grandchildren, Matthew Poston, William Gregory, Austin Gregory, Katty Poston, Payton Poston, Kelsey Gregory and Christy Mangum.She was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Allen Gregory and a brother, Samuel Morris.The family will receive friends at the home of Jessica Avant, 2441 Prince Drive.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 901 W.
