MARY JOHNSON, 93School Teacher LAKELAND - Mary Johnson, Lakeland, died of cancer, September 24, 2007 at the age of 93. She was born on May 12, 1914 in Wauchula, FL. Mrs. Johnson was a school teacher at Central Avenue Elementary school. She graduated from Florida Southern College. She loved writing poetry, and authored three Christian poetry books. She was also a founding member of Scott Lake Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Leroy Johnson. She is survived by 2 sons: Bill and Ray Johnson, both of Lakeland; 2 daughters: Bernice Hudson, The Villages, FL., LeAnn Brechler, Stevens Point, WI; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
