Mary Jo Blackwell Gaylor Adams, 80, Birmingham, formerly of Gadsden, passed from this life on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at Collier-Butler Chapel. The Revs. Jerald Adams and Jack Smith will officiate. Burial will be held at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Adams was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church and worked at Etowah Manufacturing for several years. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy. Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her daughters, Sandra Smith and Jeanette Partain; and son-in-law, George Partain.Survivors: son, Ronald Gaylor, North Carolina; sister, Polly (Rudy) Campbell; grandchildren, Sherry (Kenny) Ragan, Piedmont, Joy Smith, Birmingham, Chris (Leigh Ann) Smith, Birmingham, Chad Gaylor, North Carolina, Shawn (Nikki) Gaylor, Birmingham, Michelle Gaylor, Gadsden; son-in-law, Jack (Carol) Smith, Gadsden; nephews, Michael Campbell, Gadsden, Terry Campbell, Atlanta, Ga.; and special family friend, Deborah Munkus. She was also blessed by her great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kelsey, Darrian, Austin and Whitney Gaylor and Harris Smith.Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Chad Gaylor, Shawn Gaylor, Kenny Ragan, Michael Campbell and Terry Campbell.Honorary pallbearers are neighbors, James, Lori and Mari Olivia Worford.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
