CROOK, Mary Jean Hamric Of Nashville, TN and New Smyrna Beach, FL. Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2012. Born on September 4, 1926 in Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Waldo Levert Hamric and Addie Kirkland Hamric; brothers, Waldo Levert Hamric, Jr. and Alex Kirkland Hamric; sister, Joann Hamric Gillum, and loving husband of 63 years, William "Bill" Edwin Crook. Mrs. Crook is survived by a host of loving friends and family; her son, Steven Edwin (Suzanne) Crook; daughter, Debra Crook (Mike) Kelsey of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Seth Crook, April Crook, Nash Crook, Courtney Kelsey (Allen) Peacock, Katie Kelsey (Carson) Dodds and Monica Kelsey (Andrew) Lockwood; great-grandchildren, Samuel Peacock and Elizabeth Dodds; brother, Curtis Hamric (Lalai) of Fort Myers, FL. Mary Jean was an active member of Grace Baptist Church, where she was a Bible teacher for many years. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a monumental supporter to her husband in all their projects. She enjoyed travelling, and especially the beach and her time spent there with her grandchildren. "Mama Jean" was a wonderful influence in each of their lives. A caring and loyal friend, Mary Jean maintained many lifelong friendships. She was always an art lover, and became an accomplished artist. A celebration of her life will be conducted on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 10 a.m., at Grace Baptist Church, 1510 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, TN 37207.
