WRIGHT, Mary Jane Born in Lethbridge, AB, September 9, 1954 Died at Nanaimo General Hospital April 13, 2010 of Melanoma. One of a kind and very special. What a void she has left in so many lives. Jane bounced around, trying a variety of occupations and eventually became a reluctant Registered Nurse. Her nomadic personality suited the job as she often worked short term contracts everywhere from Florida to Northern British Columbia. Her anchor was her geographically diverse and quite separate groups of friends. In her 40's, Jane finally obtained a real address" in Ladysmith, BC, and was able to gather her treasures from several friends' basements. She loved the home that she shared with Mike. Jane had an irrational fear of becoming a bag lady". This past year and a half, she pried open the purse strings and enjoyed a trip to Cuba with Martha and also a road trip with her to California where they met up with Maureen, Shelley and Val in San Francisco. She bought the watch! Colleen took her to Saltspring Island she bought the purse! Val took her to the Skagit Valley Casino and Resort she lost again! Those privileged to know Jane well and love her include her partner, Mike Hornby, Martha Henry, Mavis Hamilton, Bob and Val Wise, Tom and Shelley Lietaer, Jennifer Kennedy, Colleen Walton, Kristin Marrs, Daniel and Sarah Haley, Susan Lopoteki, Victoria Baster, Liz Archibald, Lexi and Bob Brough, Lou Hansen, Dennis Hryvnak to mention a few. Her father's widow Marion and brothers James and Adrian (Brenda), nephew Steven (Michelle) and their children, Cooper and Charlie will also mourn her passing. Please do not send flowers. Jane requested that her ashes be spread near Mill Bay, BC, where she had many fun days at the cottage. A celebration of Jane's life will be held at Tom and Shelley's home at 1475 Ocean View Rd.
